Beach Trip, Day One

Friday morning we headed to Port Aransas-
Here is the view from my seat in the back of the car. Usually we have luggage and junk packed to the roof in the back, but I really needed to move Cole's seat to the back and be able to sit next to him. Because, you know, sitting on a plastic crate in the middle of the car is neither safe nor comfortable! This empty and organized car was brought to you by:
sherpak roof bag from rei - $110 and worth every penny
moms, google it and get one!

My seat buddy!

When we finally got there we had to wait an hour to check into our condo unit, so we went tourist shopping/got eaten by giant sharks!

I don't have any pictures, but we also went to a cute candy store in town. Wiltons or something like that. They had boxes and boxes of candy that you put in bags and pay by the pound. Unfortunately it was all at the perfect level for little fingers...we only stayed in that store for a bit!

Then we got into our unit and it was beach here we come!!!

Cole's first glimpse of the waves...

He loved it!

After our first time playing in the waves Caden swallowed a huge mouthful of water and started coughing. He ended up running to the sand and throwing up everywhere. Then, this huge flock of seagulls came and ate all of the throw up! It was disgusting and hilarious. Probably Collin and I's favorite beach trip memory.

Before we left I convinced Collin we had to have a beach tent and we bought a different one first that required using those interlocking poles. Crazy idea. We exchanged it for this "60 second pop up" tent the same night which was the best decision ever. Its lighter than those typical pop-up canopies and easier to set up, too. We did have to stake it down really well because there is so much wind, but it was a great beach accessory!

After the beach bath time

And then off to bed, so sweet to see these two crawled in bed after we left.
I love how cute the condo was decorated!

The condo was nice, although the complex itself looked a little bit old and outdated from the outside, the owners have completely redone inside. Its all freshly painted and very clean. Our only complaint was that the ceiling is original and in bad shape. Its completely outfitted for little kids, with a pack and play, high chair, plastic plates and dishes, a full toy closet, and a full collection of vhs tapes in the kids room. (I had to explain what a vhs tape was though!) There is also a great pool and playscape onsite. Plus, the short walk to the beach takes minutes from the condo!
