Leander Snowstorm 2012

On February 12th, Leander, Texas was ravaged by a 10 minute snowstorm that left thousands without power and women and children screaming in distress. It was the worst snow storm on record. Miniature snowmen, pictured above, infiltrated Leander homes and took its residents hostage, and in some cases, changed lives forever.

The first account that our news center has been able to compile revolves around the Bartley family. Pictured above is Caden Bartley, age 5, moments before the miniature snowman army attacked. Caden has gone on record saying the he will never again go to Colorado.

Caleb Bartley attempted to play with the snow before it matriculated into the army that would soon doom him and his family.

Even Jennifer Bartley, 29 and 320 days old, and infant son, Cole Bartley, 1 year old, enjoyed a last look at freedom before they would be barred to their home for hours to come. Caden, Caleb, Cole, and their mom, Jennifer, would all survive.

However, not everyone was lucky in the Bartley family household. Collin Bartley (pictured above), age 33, 1978-2012, enjoyed his final moments of life before succumbing to the ferocious miniature snowman assault that would regrettably, claim his life. His fight for life ended valiantly as he protected his family and saved their lives and those around him. Mr. Bartley provided a great turn in the war against the snowmen by remembering how a childhood favorite cartoon character overcame a similar encounter.

As further details unfold, we will provide you more about this families struggle and the remaining families of Leander as they begin to reclaim their homes and lives in Leander, Texas.
