Happy Birthday Daddy!

Posted by Picasa

Oops, I'm a little behind on the birthday blog for Collin...
Perhaps the three weeks of virus going around our house have set me back, anyway, we still managed to have a super fun birthday for Collin last week when he turned, gasp, 32!

Here is a list of your year's biggest accomplishments sweetheart:
-Buying our first house!!!
-Conceiving our third little boy!!
-Studying like crazy to become certified in Project Management on the first try of the test!!
-Teaching Caden to hit a baseball!!
-Competing in a number of fantasty leagues!
-Training for a half marathon (which I am sure you will still run someday)
-Being the best Dad and Husband a girl could ask for!

We love you! Happy Birthday!
We can't wait to see what you do before 33...

Halloween!

Our day started with a fun driving adventure to Georgetown where we discovered this amazing park! I think Daddy was ready to get out after being home alone with the boys all morning while Mommy taught Sunday School at church (both boys have been sick this weekend...)
Then after some "arts and crafts" time while Mommy made costumes (procrastinator!) it was time for trick or treating!

This is what Caden wanted to be: a giant red angry bird from his Favorite iphone game, and he wanted Caleb to be one of the little blue birds...My version came complete with "angry eyebrows", and tail-feathers...See below...

Caleb was very interested in the social aspect, he made sure to tell everyone "bye". He also spent most of his time lagging behind because he was more interested in eating the bag of Reices Pieces Mommy gave him!

Fluffy Pancakes and Blueberry Syrup

I decided to try and post some of my favorite-use all the time-best recipes
Here is, in my opinion, the most delicious pancake recipe ever!
(only adding ricotta is "original", I copied it from allrecipes.com)

Fluffy Pancakes
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup white vinegar
2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup ricotta cheese, optional

1. Combine milk w vinegar in a bowl and set aside for 5 minutes. (this helps turn the milk into buttermilk for thick rich pancakes)
2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Sift if you want extra fluffy pancakes.
3. Whisk milk, eggs, butter (once cooled from melting), eggs, and ricotta (if using) together. Add to dry ingredients. If using ricotta you may need to add a splash of milk so that the batter isn't too thick. Pour 1/4 cups onto medium skillet, flip, and enjoy!

Blueberry Syrup
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons of syrup or sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1. Heat blueberries in microwave for about 30 seconds or until warm. The juices should be running out..
2. Add sugar or syrup, and butter. Pour over pancakes. Yum!

Baby Video

baby6 from Jennifer Bartley on Vimeo.

Here is a clip of the video from our fun 3D sonogram...if you spend time to watch give it about 30 seconds and you can see more than in the beginning! I can't believe how much more I feel like I know this baby just by seeing this sneak preview!

By the way it is labeled Baby6 because it was my SIXTH attempt to get the thing loaded from the dvd they gave us and onto blogger. I really don't want to talk about it except to say that this is the reason I stopped blogging so much...I get obsessed about computer stuff and waste way too much time on it while my kids are being neglected :(

Oh Baby!!!

We had SOO much fun going to get a 3D ultrasound today! I cannot overstate how thankful I am that we decided to pay the money to do this...I also found a great deal:
Bluebonnet Diagnostics in Roundrock- $80- 15min scan, cd, dvd, and 4 pics
on the off chance that anyone reads this who is interested...

So here are a handful of the pictures from today and a video if you are really interested. Oh man, I can't wait to get my arms around this sweet baby boy! He looks sooo cute in there, it almost felt like cheating to get such a good glimpse of him today. We are 26 weeks and almost to the last trimester! Hurray! All we have to do is get through Collin's bday, Caden's bday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas...do you think that will be enough activity to distract me from being super pregnant? (probably not, but at least I'll have lots of fun while I wait)

He had his hand by his face for a long time...

And just for fun above is a newborn picture of Caleb and below is one of Caden...
They saw hair on the ultrasound today, so that means another baby with a full head of hair hopefully!

I have a video from today that is really cool to add, but vimeo is taking forever to upload it so I'll post in on here when it is finished!

...and if that (plus a 2yr well visit for Caleb at the doctor today) wasn't enough for today, we also got our Birthday Grownup Boys Bunkbed delivered! Its two twins with a third twin trundle...so technically, its for all THREE boys! :)

Daddy reading bedtime Bible story, Noah's Rainbow, per Caden's request for the 500th night in a row :)
Caleb being a daredevil, he was trying to jump down all the steps.
