Seeing Green

Anyone else seeing green today?
We had a super fun day celebrating Daddy's most favorite of holidays...
Check out my leprechaun socks, says Cole!

I got extra festive and made green food all day, here is breakfast...

Ok, so the apples are granny smith. They were green before I peeled them and cooked them in butter and sugar. The pastry is called a dutch baby, you pour a pancake like batter into a saute pan and bake it in the oven. I liked it, but I think it was supposed to puff up more than it did.
Lunch for the kids. Those are kiwi candies in the top, I liked them but the boys didn't. Sigh.
Posted by PicasaHere is the party man himself. Loving his pesto pasta and shrimp over spinach. I call it sophisticated green...

Gigi came to visit decked all out in cute green herself. She fit right in to our party!

Seriously mom, I think 300 pictures is adequate documentation...

Can't help it!

Dinner!

Someone made us the most delicious pulled pork tacos for a bringing new baby home meal. The best part about it is the recipe which is sooo easy!!! I never use my slow cooker b/c the first few attempts were disastrous, but I pulled it back out to try this recipe and it worked like a charm.

Ingredients (only 2!!!)
Pork tenderloin
(not pork loin, that is a different cut of meat.
I think you could also use pork shoulder that is a fattier and less expensive type of meat)
One jar of Green Chili Stew Two - Step Mix by Cookwell & Company
(pictured below, this is from HEB at the cooking connection stand)

Directions:
Dump pork tenderloins into slow cooker.
Pour half a jar of the green chili stew mix over them.
Turn on slow cooker to low and let it cook for 6 hours or so.
Shred the meat with some forks and serve in tortillas with avocado, cheese, sour cream, lettuce.
Enjoy!

*I added a little bit of water (1/2 cup) to the meat after a few hours because the sauce was getting dry...
**This jar costs $8 but you could save the other half for another recipe by freezing...

If you are interested in another recipe, I just tried Melissa D Arabian's lasangna from food network. Lots more ingredients, but very yummy!

Fun times!!

Look at these studs cleaning the car last week! If you have an eye for detail, yes, that is Caleb holding a plastic bat...don't you use one when you wash your car?

I love how his diaper is showing!

We had some fun times with family coming to visit us this weekend! Look at my beautiful nieces, they are so cute! Between the two Bartley brothers there are now 5 kids 4 years old and under. That makes for some super fun times when we get all together!
I'm still loving how everyone has helped out so much with meals, I barely stepped in the kitchen all weekend long!
Can you see the scrape above his eyebrow? He fell off our bar stool and then it fell on him! Ouch!

Grandpa Bartley with Uncle Connor, Collin, and all the grand kids-
This is seriously the best picture of the batch. Love kid photography.

Expressions!

Even though the tiniest baby stage is quickly passing us by, I am so excited that we are starting to really meet our little guy! He is really starting to check us out!

Next up...that first real smile...can't wait, I've seen the ones in his sleep and they are absolutely adorable!

Brothers

Its so interesting to compare these three boys now that Cole is here...I was convinced Cole would look just like Caleb. Looks like I was wrong! The order is Caleb, Cole, and Caden top to bottom...
